Thus the origin of Picolit, \"small\" in the Friulian dialect, which draws its sweetness from the drying procedure, necessary to make a great sipping wine, while ensuring a balance with mineral notes, sufficient to provide freshness and sharpness of flavors. Livio, patriarch of the family and now close to a century of life, still takes care of the extraordinary Picolit vineyards on the karstic hills of Rosazzo, next to the homonymous famous Abbey, in an area that will fall short in a new DOCG.
