The name "Burdese" is taken from the Sicilian dialect, and refers, in the meaning, to the "bordelaise" origin of the grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc: the term is usually used along the island to denote those wines which are made out of typical varieties of the mentioned west region of France. Burdese takes origin from two different vineyards: Tunno, planted on a portion of soil deep and rich in clay, and Maroccolo, located behind the Lago Arancio and rich in organic matter, both of them located in the sunny plains of Menfi, near Agrigento, about 150 meters above sea level. This premises have created Burdese, intense in the woody notes and generous in the spiciness, but featuring a dynamic evolution of scents, with a structure in line with the geo-climatic characteristics of the territory of origin.
